Rams Claim Conference Tournament Title
The Scott City Rams battled the Chaffee Red Devils on Friday, February 6th, in the finals of the Scott/Mississippi Conference Tournament at Scott County Central High School. The Rams were able to win their second consecutive Conference Tournament Championship, to go along with their second consecutive Conference Regular Season Championship, defeating the Red Devils 63-39.
Scott City’s defense once again set the tone, limiting Chaffee to single digits in the first quarter, resulting in a 14-7 lead. The Rams were able to outscore the Red Devils 17-13 in the second quarter, taking a 31-20 lead into halftime. Scott City built on their lead in the third quarter, establishing an 11-8 edge and stretching out to a 42-28 lead. Just like the first time these two teams met, the Rams were able to put the game away in the fourth quarter, posting a 21-11 advantage.

Scott City’s defense and rebounding were the difference in the game, holding Chaffee to 31% shooting and winning the rebounding battle 38-21. The Rams extended their winning streak against the Red Devils to 11 games, and have now won 22 straight games vs. Conference opponents (regular season and tournaments included). Scott City (17-3) will travel to Cape Central High School on Tuesday to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
JV Rams Defeat Hawks for Title
The Scott City JV Rams avenged their only loss of the season, defeating the Kelly Hawks 48-44 to capture the Scott/Mississippi Conference Tournament Championship. The JV Rams held a slight 29-28 lead at halftime, and were able to make some big plays in the fourth quarter to hold on for the win.
Scott City JV increased their winning streak to 11 games, while improving to 13-1 overall. The JV Rams will play Tuesday at Cape Central High School, starting at 6:00 p.m.
