SC Boys Basketball Gearing Up for District Run
The wait is almost over for the Scott City Rams boys basketball team as they prepare to kick off their Class 3, District 2 tournament run. As the number two seed in the district, with an impressive record of 22-4 and winners of 15 out of their last 16 games, the Rams are looking strong heading into the postseason. Their first test will come against the winner of the matchup between the Acradia Valley Tigers (seeded 3rd) and the Clearwater Tigers (seeded 6th). Scott City’s opening game in the district tournament is scheduled for Thursday, February 26th at 7:00 pm.
If the Rams can navigate their way through this initial hurdle, they’ll set their sights on the championship game, and, possibly, a rematch against the top-seeded Woodland Cardinals, who have had the Rams’ number in recent years. The Cardinals finished fourth in state last year and have come out on top in meetings between the two teams during the last two Christmas tournaments (2024 and 2025) as well as last year’s district tournament. However, Scott City is eager to put an end to this streak and hope to claim their first district title since 2020.
The stage is set for some exciting basketball action in District 2, and we can’t wait to see how the Rams fare in their quest for a championship. With their impressive regular season record and momentum on their side, Scott City has all the ingredients necessary to make a deep run in this year’s tournament. We hope all Rams will cheer them on as they attempt to win a district title.
