Softball Ramping Up For Districts
As the school year is coming to a close, so are the regular seasons of spring athletics. After a wildly successful March and April, the Scott City softball team is set to begin the Class 2, District 2 tournament on Saturday, May 4th. The Rams enter the tournament as the #3 seed, but they will enter as the tournament’s hottest team, having won nine in a row (including a winner over #2 seed Valle) and sixteen of their last seventeen games. The Rams currently sport an overall record of 19-5, tops in the district.
After one last regular season matchup with Oran on May 1st, the softball team will begin districts against the #6 seed Woodland Cardinals. Woodland enters districts with a record of 12-6. The opening round game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start time. If the Rams are able to advance, the district semifinal is scheduled for Monday, May 6th and the district final will be played Wednesday, May 8th. The district tournament this year is being held in Ste. Genevieve.
We encourage all Ram fans to follow along with our highly talented and highly successful softball team as they attempt to bring home the first district championship for the program since the 2020-2021 season. Go Rams!
