Congratulations to the Speech and Debate team for their tournament on Thursday, January 25th at Jackson! First time performers Paris Altorfer and Joel Huckstep did a great job and ranked high against 12 other schools in the district. Ava Uelsmann also performed very well, placing high among her other competitors. Hannah Heise broke through to finals, placing 6th out of 15 opponents, and Ann Baker placed 2nd among the same contestants.
For the next competition, the team will be competing on our home turf. The Scott City Speech & Debate meet will be held on February 1st, with a 4:00 p.m. start time. If you see a member of the Speech Roster, wish them luck and tell them to “break a leg”!
