District Basketball Is Near!
The end of February is rapidly approaching and that means the district basketball tournaments are about to begin. Both the girls and boys basketball teams will be entering district play well-tested and with many reasons to be confident.
The Scott City boys basketball team, currently sporting a 20-4 record with two games remaining, will open district play on February 20th against the Woodland Cardinals, with an 8:00 PM tip time. The Rams enter the district tournament as the #4 seed. If they are able to secure the victory, the Rams will next face the #1 seed in the tournament, the Charleston Blue Jays. A potential district semifinal matchup with Charleston would take place on February 22nd at 6:00 p.m. The boys basketball district this year is being hosted at Notre Dame high school.
The Scott City girls basketball team currently boasts a 16-8 record, with only one game left to play in the regular season. Their success on the court this year has earned them a first round bye as the tournament’s #2 seed. The Scott City girls basketball team will begin their district tournament play on February 21st against the winner of the #3 seed Kelly Hawks and the #6 seed Clearwater Tigers. That district semifinal game is scheduled to start at 7:15 in the evening. The girls basketball district this year will be played at Bloomfield high school.
Get ready to cheer for your team and enjoy the exciting games as both Scott City basketball teams seek a district championship!
