Girls Basketball Preparing for District Tournament

The Class 3, District 2 girls basketball district tournament is set to tip off on Wednesday, February 25th, and the Scott City Rams are ready to make a statement. As the number 3 seed in the tournament, with a record of 10-14, they’ve been playing some of their best ball lately, winning five of their last seven games. With momentum on their side, they’ll look to carry that success into their first-round matchup against the number 2 seeded Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.

The Rams will be looking for revenge against the Crusaders, who handed them a 50-46 loss earlier in the season. Scott City has had time to regroup and refocus since then, and they’ll be eager to prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with in this year’s tournament. Saxony Lutheran, meanwhile, comes into the game with a record of 9-12, and have struggled down the stretch, losing their previous three games.

The winner of Wednesday night’s matchup will advance to the district championship game on Friday, February 27th, where they are expected to face off with the number 1 seed, the St. Vincent Indians. With a scheduled tip time of 6:00 pm for this district championship game, fans are sure to be in store for an exciting and intense battle between two teams looking to claim the district title.
