Track & Field Athletes To Compete In State Meet

Members of the Scott City Track & Field team are headed to the State track meet. After the team had one of its most successful sectional meets in years, many Scott City athletes qualified for the state meet, to be held in Jefferson City on Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th.The State track meet will be the final meet of the season, as our athletes compete to become state champions in their events.

Much of the success at the sectional meet were in the relays. On the boys side, the 4x200m relay qualified with a time of 1:34.28, the 4x400m relay qualified with a score of 3:33.78, and the 4x800m relay qualified with a 8:36.48. Individually, Carter Burger qualified by finishing second in Discus with a throw of 44.20m. For the girls team, the 4x800m relay earned their trip to the state meet with a time of 10:48.70.

The following athletes will be competing in the State meet. Scott City wishes to congratulate all members of the Track & Field team on their hard work and success this season and offers their best wishes for those competing this weekend.
