Girls Basketball Preview

The season has just begun for the Scott City Rams girls basketball team and they are off to a great start with a record of 3-0! Their opening game victory came against the Advance Hornets in a hard earned 61-44 win on November 20th. This season, under the leadership of Head Coach Cindy Henry, the team’s primary focus is finding the right combination that pushes the team towards their goals.

Coach Henry and Coach Emily Henson, joining as the high school assistant, sees several experienced players providing big contributions to this year’s team. Senior Gracie Karrenbrock is expected to lead the team’s handling of the ball and scoring, while senior Mackenzie Lawless has the leadership skills which keep the team levelheaded. Yet another senior on this year’s team, Logan Schiwitz, is praised by the coaches as always doing what is asked, someone who leads by example, and goes above and beyond on the court to make things happen. Junior Ramsey Spinks is a smart player who sees opportunities on the court and junior Lilian Landis, who is cautiously working her way back from injury, will be a key contributing factor. The team is also glad to welcome back junior Lily Elders as she is working her way back into the game.

The coaches also have a couple of promising freshman, Hayden Collier and Reese Carter, who the coaches would like to see get significant playing time and growth. Coach Henry believes this year’s team is full of potential and is a hard-working group of girls, fearless and always up for the challenge. With the right combination of experience and youth, the team has a great chance to succeed this season.

As the season progresses, the coaching staff hopes to see the players come together and play to their highest potential. With the leadership of the senior players and the potential of the newer members of the team, Coach Henry believes that this year’s basketball team is capable of great things this season. The goal is to leave everything on the court and achieve the highest level of success possible.

As fans eagerly await the upcoming games, it is clear that the Scott City Rams Girls Basketball team has the potential to be incredibly successful this season. With a talented and dedicated coaching staff, and a team full of potential, this should be an exciting season for Scott City basketball fans!
